This holiday season, we are asking you to help EWB build a world of opportunity, prosperity, and dignity for the next generation of Africans. We have seen almost 500 overseas volunteers increase access to clean water, develop more sustainable farms, improve infrastructure systems, and open market opportunity. EWB has not been afraid to test, to innovate, to fail, and to start over with a new approach. There is no doubt, that in our first decade, we have done a lot of great things. Take for example, our work in Malawi. In the village of Pindani, there are six improved water points, but four of them are broken. Pindani is not alone. Around 40% of water points in Malawi dont work. Our overseas staff have been tackling this problem by mapping water points, identifying innovative solutions to maintenance constraints, and building the capacity of district staff. Our ambitions are high, with the potential to reach hundreds of thousands of rural Malawians. We envision drastically scaling up our work; calling for our resources to double in the next year. It all starts this holiday season, when EWBers with the help of their personal networks will contribute to widespread water access, for villages like Pindani. Or profitable farms in Damongo, for connecting farmers unions in Kombissiri, Burkina-Faso, or fair market access in Pemba, Zambia. Starting in mid-November, you will have the chance to help build our world of opportunity. On November 15th visit http://opportunity.ewb.ca. Less
